Food allergy network
Food allergy is one of the most common forms of allergy prevalent all over the world. When the body’s immune system reacts to any of the food proteins, then that protein is identified as an allergen, which triggers the release of histamines, which causes the allergy symptoms. Typical symptoms of a food allergy would manifest in the skin (itching, eczema, rash), or digestive tract (stomach pain, nausea, diahorrea), or respiratory system (sneezing, cough, runny nose,) and in some severe cases it will cause anaphylaxis. About 90 types of food allergies have been identified. Some are common and some not so common. Two kinds of food allergies like corn and chocolate allergies are not considered as full-blown allergies. It is said that these two rarely have allergy reactions. There is a food allergy network, which gives information about all kinds of food allergies. Since food allergy affects so many lives there is a food allergy network formed in 1991,by the name ‘Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.’ This food allergy network has more than 30,000 members who are from all over the world. They are from all walks of life with a common mission to spread awareness and impart education and knowledge to make life comfortable for a food allergy sufferer. This food allergy network acts as a bridge between the patient and others.
